The specifications of Apple have made Microsoft more difficult in the last year to grasp the cloud gaming service of the Xbox Game Pass on IOS devices.
Apple describes accordingly (still) that every game must be in the form of a single app.
What Microsoft was ready to do to get a foot in the door, was now known by e-mails that The Verge received the Judicial Displacement between Epic Games and Apple.
To master this hurdle, Microsoft would therefore be seriously considered implementing the games individually as an app, if one could additionally have a central app for cloud gaming technology. Apple has not admitted to it.
Amazing, however, is that Microsoft was even willing to develop exclusive AAA games that were only available in Apple App Store.
The usual share of 30% in the sale of games Microsoft was still unwilling to give Apple. An exclusive deal in this regard Microsoft could not negotiate.
The amount of the share for Apple or in-app purchases about the Game Pass app should not have been the reason why one did not agree. In the case of in-app purchases, these are also disabled at the Game Passport app for Android.
With an updating of its guidelines in September last year, Apple now also complicates streaming services like Xbox Game Pass Cloud Gaming to bring into the app store. Microsoft now deals with a browser solution.
